Lord.Bachus writes: The succes of an MMO is not based on the quallity of graphics, but on the content. I personallt think the world looks great and the character annimations are totally sweet. I don't know if i'll like the gameplay tough... Don't know enough yet.. But this game might end up more like an online RPG instead of an MMO.. And even that doesn't tell anyhting about the gameplay.. It will be different enough from WoW tough to feel as a fresh experience. Sat Feb 27 2010 1:44AM

artemisentr4 writes: This continues to give me hope of an open play area mixed in with the story arc. I see this as an example of a public outdoor area for public questing that is not dependent on your story. Still need a lot more info to see if this is really true or not. Sun Feb 28 2010 4:42PM

pepsi1028 writes: @Lord.Bachus. That's why its a MMORPG. It will have a massive amount of people, and its a role playing game. MMO is not how the game plays, its classifying who you can play it with. So do not confuse mmo with an rpg. One states how many people clan play it, and the rpg clearly states the genre it is in Mon Mar 01 2010 9:28PM
jedi_night writes: @ pespi1028. Simply having lots of players online and it being an RPG doesn't mean that it is an MMORPG. That is like saying that (sorry for the bad example, couldn't think of one better) all Swiss Cheese is cheese made in Switzerland. An MMORPG can't simply be defined by breaking it down into MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) and RPG (Role Playing Game). No real MMO player does that. If this were simply the case per the definition, then any game on XBOX LIVE is an MMORPG. A Role Playing Game, by definition, is any game where you take on the role of a character that...is not you. I.E., you play the role of someone else. And MMO, massively multiplayer...well, there are hundreds of thousands of players on XBOX LIVE at the same time, that you can interact with in lobbies before you start your game. SO by your definition (and sadly many others) Mass Effect 2 (a single player RPG) can still be considered a MMORPG. For a real MMO (i hate typing all 6 letters, lazy I know) fan, there needs to be more. There needs to be the ability to interact with those multitudes of players (whether its 5k per server in WoW, or 40k congruent users in EVE) in various ways. Whether it's to group with your guild/clan and tackle difficult content, or to attack other players, or whatever it is that floats your boat. Simply chatting in a virtual lobby before running off to your own little instance of the world just doesn't cut it (A-la Guild Wars 1 or Global Agenda). Games that follow that pattern are simply MMOG, or Massively Multiplayer (yes, because many people are connected to the server at once) Online Games (akin to any console online game.) I really wish that newer gamers to the MMO community, and developers would start to define MMOG and MMORPG a bit more strict, because you cant qualify a massive game on the lines of WoW, Planetside, Everquest, Warhammer, Fallen Earth, Even Online and hopefully SWTOR, on the same page as games such as Guild Wars, Global Agenda, and others in that category. @Vexe. That is probably one of the most ignorant things I have read, and hopefully it was a troll post. Graphics don't make a good game. Game play makes a good game. It's one thing if a new game comes out with outdated, poor graphics (Fallen Earth), and it is another to have a specific artistic style. WoW's graphics isn't what makes it accessible, its the ease at which young and casual gamers can pick it up, and play. Stylized art doesn't mean game play will be dumbed down. Hopefully it isn't, but in today's market, companies need to attract a wide range of players to ensure the monthly fees keep rolling in, it is a business after all. Saying SWTOR developers chose the graphics they did to make it accessible to all levels of players is like saying a Jackson Pollock painting was done for kindergarteners simply based off its stile. THAT BEING SAID. I am hopeful for SWTOR, though much is yet to be seen as far as playing with others, which scares me a bit. Tue Mar 02 2010 7:25AM
fansede writes: the devs seems to enjoy the artwork and history of the kotor series. Just how much will this matter when players get their hands on it? Will it be fun? Do they want players to be posting screenshots and videos on kotor landmarks and recite lore? Don't lose yourselves too much, though it may be meaningful to you, it may be hard to translate the appreciation to a gamer. Thu Mar 04 2010 11:58AM

AricB writes: I would still rather have kotor 3! I really dont care much how Taris is doing 300 years from kotor 2 What I want is how it is doing 1,3,or maybe 5 years from kotor 1. Like what happend to the Exile? Or did Carth and Bastila ever find Revan? What did Revan find out in space that was so bad? Did Bastila want or try to continue her romance with Revan? Did the Exile and Reavan Reunite? Did the Exile and Revan have to join togather there teams from 1 & 2 to fight whatever it was he found way out in space? What happend to the Handmaiden? what happend to the bounty hunter? What about the Jedi order, did they rebuild? How? Thats the stuff I care about kotor 2 left sooo much unsaid, untold that I think that they could have done another game kotor 3 or heck I would even settled for 2.5 then they could have came out with the SW kotor online MMO. But hey thats just me I guess :( Sun Mar 07 2010 5:33PM

Adacanavar writes: To those people harping about the graphics have you never seen a game in development before? Most of them don't have the end graphics quality in them they are just bare boned notice how the graphics they are working on are no better than the parts from the original KOTOR this does not mean that the end result will have lower end graphics in fact the graphics will probably be something far better than you expect.
