Thanks for the answers.

7) Can you get a kinship housing for yourself? Or are they only for kinships? Oh and are there only 4 neighbourhoods, one for each race?

8) Is there multiple areas for each level group? Say from 20- 30, or whatever, is there multiple areas to level up at, or are all the player funnelled into an area or set path of areas? So if I make some alts I can level up without going exactly the same path...

9) Are there solo-able story areas, I seen on youtube instanced dungeons with story-lines and stuff going on inside them, Or are they all made with groups in mind?

10) I've heard of like music and smoking mini game type things, are these true? and with music, can other players hear your music, can you play free style and can you have like bands setup?

Probably more questions, thanks in advance again...

So I'm really quiet tempted by this $10 deal... I just have a few concerns, before I buy...

1) Complexity, I like my MMO's complex, at least above (maybe on par with) WoW's. So is it simpler then WoW, on par or above, when it comes to complexity and difficulty?

2) How is the community? Is it friendly? lots of roleplayers? Is the population growing, shrinking or staying nice and steady?

3) How big is the download, for High res, or whatever?

4) Is it highly probable that there will be another expansion pack? And how long did it take from Morias announcement to release, and from Angmars launch to morias announcement?

5) What server has the highest Australian population, Or current population during Australian Prime-time, if anyone knows?

6) How are the other activities/ stuff? Is crafting useful/worth it/ fun? Are there mounts in the game (and at what level)? Do houses serve purpose other then being a sign of your awesomeness and being banks? Is there any other extra activities I should know of?

That's it for now, likely ask more later...

Thanks in advance :)

So my friend is going to start playing WoW, and I'm going to return so I can play with him... I want to know what are some of the duos that work very well together for levelling?

Thanks in advance :)

It looks like a bit of action packed fun, I would like to play it, and the strategy and tactics might have to do with a grander scale then just the small combats here and there. It does seem like people are running around like headless chickens though....

- Performance.... I've only been playing 6 months, but the game runs OK, most other MMO's have better performance though
-Server: Seradon, With Xeth a close second
-Community: Best I've ever seen. Nice helpful, almost never any fights( and then they're even friendly fights) and in the last 6 months I have NEVER come a across a troll.
-Not much endgame, other than mastering crafting and diplomacy... There is only one raid, But it is hard and long... Like only a handful, I mean a small handful, have the privilege of saying they have beat Kotasoth. Though I heard there are more Raids on the way.
-Class balance: Not too sure about this one, of course there are the "Overpowered" classes, But every class serves their purpose.
-Solo/small group content: There's a lot of it during the game, I'm not sure about endgame though. But I must say, This is a game to savour, It's NOT a rush to endgame like WoW or some other MMO's.
-Features: Appearance slots, fishing, Permanent flying mounts, Racial mounts, are the main ones.
-The community alone makes the game worth Subbing, and it has the greatest PvE in any MMO I've played so far. The game has so much content it's worth making many alts. The only limits are your own, Literally. It's ALMOST ... Dare I say it... Perfect.

Have you looked in games under the start menu? That's where mine was. Many vista games don't put icons on the desktop, Only in "Games".

I'm almost 100% positive that's what the problem is. Click start then on the right side near pictures and music is games.

I played the trial for a while, though the last few days I've been avoiding playing it after hearing some terrifying stories, And now I want to play it again, because it was fun, but I'm still very worried.

Basically I've heard a lot of stories about pirates stalking newbies and not giving them a chance of doing anything, they ninja loot everything, stop them from warping and ask for a ransom, before destroying your ship for being a few hundred ISK short, for no apparent reason, Even in "safer" 0.9 security areas...

I'm, personally, not a fan of PvP, though I'm drawn to the game for it's addictive fun combat and spaceships and stuff. But I'm really worried about jerk pirates in uber tech 2 ships with every skill imaginable hunting around for simple poorly armed frigates that an unskilled player got only half an hour earlier...

So is it really that bad? Will I get ganked and ninja looted often? Is it safer to join a big friendly corporation and travel around in packs?

I'd like to put emphasis on the questions, "how bad are the pirates in the game?" and "What is your experiences in the game?"

I'd like to give it a chance, but even if half the stories are true.... I dunno...

I like WoW's graphics. It's simple, detailed and not hard on the eyes, There aren't so many endless lands of dull colors. Each area has it's own color set, it's own style and I think it's pretty cool. The bright style of WoW is far superior to the dull games that make up most of the MMO market. Too bad the community isn't as bright as the rest of the game

I thought players turn into chickens when they entered an area too low level for them??? To stop gankers......

Just another question: Should I wait a few more months to see what sort of updates come out first or should I rush out and buy as soon as I can?

Trials are useless on my internet connection, Not only will it take several hours to download, It will use up most of my download cap...

I hope the lag isn't that bad,  One of the reasons I quit AoC because I was often getting over 1000ms latency (=Really bad lag), While WoW and other MMO's it's a "nice smooth" 300ms, I was hoping the australian servers would drop the latency alot. Can anyone give me a definate yay or nay on the oceanic servers performance?

So, I used to play the warhammer tabletop game, and I've always enjoyed the video games, and I like MMO's, no matter how much I suck at them...

So for the questions,

1) I live in Australia, so I'd be playing on the oceanic servers, Is the lag really bad? I read lots of complaining about the lag, Are these just game bashers doing there thing, or is it true, and how bad is it?

2) Are the RvR servers like unfair, Groups of gankers preying on soloers or smaller weaker groups?

3) Are the greenskins over abundant? I like greenskins, I'm pretty sure most of everyone does too..

4) I read somewhere that public quests will be soloable soon, That seems stupid to me, since one of the draws of the game for me was the whole public quests that everyone wants to group up to finish... Is this like true, or is there something I'm missing?

5) Is the community really bad, Including bother RvR and PvE servers?

6) Is the community leaving that fast, is the game really dying?

I think that's all

Thanks in advance :)

1. Dunno, don't play on oceanic myself.

2. Yes, me and my partner get ganking problems alot on open RvR and even in RvR areas on non open you still get ganked.

3. Yeah, alot of people like to choose greenskins perticually the goblins as the squig herder seems to be one of the best range for desctruction side.

4. News to me but that doesn't mean it isn't true.  I agree that it would be stupid since its "public" this means that everyone can and will join in and we do help each other to complete it.

5. Yeah, the community is as bad as they say, pretty much a huge majorety are ex WoW players looking for something new to PK on really.

6. Game dying? heh, hardly.  Seems quite popular to me.

By the way, I too played the table top game and this is nothing like it really, hell the maruder has a mutated arm which you never get for maruder in table top!  They pretty much adjusted things to suit the gameplay for WAR really.  All in all its kinda fun but wouldn't keep me entertained longer than a month.  I bought the game after trial and already getting fed up with it now.

The community is as bad as they say? I heard it was pretty good...

Oh I didn't know there was PvP on the roleplaying servers. I'm not a fan of PvP, other than the occasional arena match...

WoW is a bit of fun, the community lets it down and it's all gone towards harcore PvP play. I just really hate the community though, All they do is troll each other and whinge about how unbalanced their class is. I'd like to see one forum page on the official forum that doesn't have at least 10 "OMG blizzard nerfed X all they care about iz money". Blizzard is doing a great job maintaining the game and releasing updates and expansions, No matter how much they change the game.

The OP is right though.... Most of the players that you see in the game love the game, while all you see out of the game is people bashing it.

I've been playing WoW on and off for about a year now and have never been able to get anywhere in the game... I'm thinking of subbing a fourth time, But this time going on a role-playing server (I've met a few people on normal servers roleplaying and joined in, it was a bit of fun).
I was just wondering if people are less immature and less "omg u noob"-y and actually have some fun role-playing on the role-playing servers...

Thanks in advance :)

Yeah, what little people you come across in the game aren't interested in grouping up...... Or being friendly. And the people on the forums aren't the nicest I've seen either.

For me, MMO's are boring without groups, which is why I play them.

I thought it might be a bit more interesting to solo in age of conan because of the combat system.... It wasn't

Like all MMO's, no one wants to group up, everyone is obsessed with soloing to the highest level as quickly as possible.

So would anyone like to "team up" to level up together... maybe using epic zones...

Just some info:

Server: Any PvE, I'm not a big fan of PvP.

Time zone: I'm GMT+10 (East coast Australia), so anything near that would be fine

Playtime: I can get on the game for any time between 2pm to 9:30pm/10pm. It varies greatly for day to day though.

Class: I'd prefer to be a back row caster/healer.

erm tell me if I missed anything...

Thanks in advance

I have a HOX on a PvE, and a barbarian - for the first time in any MMO I have played - on a PvP server. I am loving my Barbarian heaps at the moment. Though I haven't got up to any PvP yet.

I have an annoying problem with the AoC forums though, Even though I'm old enough to buy and play the game in my country, I'm not old enough to access the forums, unfortunately.

Thanks for the answer

How melee based is HOX?

I got Age of Conan earlier today, and it's just patching now, and I have a few questions.

1) Is there any PvP at all on PvE servers? I'm not the biggest fan of PvP servers, But I don't mind participating in a bit of PvP every now and then.

2) Are barbarians and/or HOX good for for beginners? I like the look of both, HOX more than barbarian, But HOX looks like it might not solo that well and die lots.
That's about it for now

Edit: woot finished patching

Thanks in advance
