Thought I'd throw this up, and see what the general consensus is as to what pulls people into Eve. Personally, I find myself very different than most folk, as I prefer the setting and style of Eve more than I enjoy the actual gameplay. Although, I respect those who enjoy that as well. My ideal Eve would be more action based combat, but keep the rest. Anyway, onto the poll.

Which aspect do you like most about Eve?

PVP!
Corporations!
Economics!
Politics!
Skills over time!
Being a ship!
Setting and Style/Atmosphere!
The Pirate/Criminal aspect!
Missions/PVE!
All of the above!

Setting and atmosphere.

For me, EVE does a perfect job at making me feel immersed in New Eden. From the sound effects to the physical structures (natural and artificial), and the emptiness of space, it delivers immersion in truck loads.

If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.

I went with 'All of the above', as I really like the freeform nature of EvE.  If I get bored with whatever I'm doing, I just pack up my shit and go do something else somewhere else.  No rerolls, no having to have ten gazillion alts, no need to grind though content I've already seen a million times already, I just go do it.

EvE has ruined MMOs for me.  I just can't do themeparks any more :(

Polls needs "everything but PvE"-option. I play GW/Wurm for PvE and Eve for the Rest.

I loved the atmosphere! And the sound.. Eve got incredible sound!

But it lacks other things.. What is there to do other than fly around being amazed by the environment?

First time I played eve I was a miner but you get sick of that..

And the last time I played I was a fighter.. but the quests/missions is very repetitive and boring so eventually you run out of thing to do in eve sadly.. I would love to start play again, but I know that when I get used to the impressive environment I will run out of things to do..

A Good Sandbox isn't about your characters abilities; It's about the players ability.

I like that you don't have to grind mindlessly for stats, and you can get an idea and just run with.

I think all games let you run with ideas to some degree, it's just in EVE you get allot farther doing it and it's more fun.

Edit: OH OH !  Single server has to be there!

I like the unpredictability. the thing with player-generated content is that you literally never know what will happen next.
