Greetings everyone. I played Vanguard in closed beta, and through it's unfortunate launch. I had gone alone with the development of the game prior it's released and favored a lot of the features it offers. However, after launch it was just at an unbearable state. As of late, however, I've heard much talk about the improvement of the game and was considering resubscribing my account. i just have a few questions that I'd like answered. If at all possible :D -How are the performance issues now? Can the servers handle the amount of players on them? -What is the most active server of the four? -How is the community? -I read recently that they've added raiding to end-game? What else is there to do end-game? Is it nothing bu a carrot on a stick gear grind? -How are the classes at this point? Are they balanced? - How much solo/small group end-game content is there? -Anything cool features since launch that has been added? -Anything else that makes the game worth resubbing?

- Performance.... I've only been playing 6 months, but the game runs OK, most other MMO's have better performance though |

It is very enjoyable just to log in and putz around for a little while, or play for a longer time accomplishing some goal, quest, etc. I enjoy the lore and usually talk to all the NPCs I find. I also agree about the friendly community. They remind me a lot of my time in EQ where people actually took the time to help out their fellow adventurers. The only drawback that I have found since I resubbed a couple of months ago is there are very few people in the low level areas. This isn't too much of a problem as most of the quests can be completed solo, but this is a MMO and you play them mostly to group with other players. There is a free trial available, so you can try it out without any monetary risk. Ion

I think the previous posters got most of your questions answered. If you start on IoD you'll have a great opportunity to get a good taste of all three spheres. However, two caveats: 1) IoD is packed, over 100 players often, so you might experience more lag than you would in the rest of Telon and 2) the IoD community is sporadic, there are a lot of WoW folks etc. just trying out the game. So the IoD chat is usually not reflective of the fantastic community Vanguard enjoys. If you play, take your time, get immersed, get into the lore... it's a blast! |
